HR Business Partner

Location: Abilene, TX

Salary: $120,000 – $130,000 annually

This role will partner closely with plant leadership and employees to support business objectives while driving effective HR programs, processes, and initiatives.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner with a strong generalist HR background and manufacturing experience. The ideal candidate will partner closely with plant leaders and employees while supporting key areas including onboarding, retention, recruiting, employee engagement, and HR process improvement.

This position will also lead complex HR projects, contribute to strategic planning, improve existing processes, and develop innovative solutions that support evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead complex, high-impact HR projects and processes from initiation through completion with limited oversight.

  • Define project scope, establish milestones, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure successful outcomes.

  • Translate organizational objectives into actionable HR initiatives.

HR Generalist & Plant Support

  • Partner with plant leaders and employees to address HR needs and support business objectives.

  • Manage and support employee onboarding, retention, interviewing, recruiting, and related HR activities.

  • Provide HR guidance and support within a manufacturing/plant environment.

  • Build strong relationships with leaders and employees across the organization.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic operational and HR roadmaps.

  • Translate high-level objectives into practical implementation plans.

  • Monitor KPIs and use data to evaluate progress and adjust strategies as needed.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and opportunities to improve HR processes.

  • Conduct detailed data analysis and develop recommendations for process improvements.

  • Champion automation and other technology-driven enhancements that improve efficiency and effectiveness.

SOP Redesign & Innovation

  • Review and evaluate existing standard operating procedures.

  • Adapt existing processes and develop innovative solutions to address emerging business requirements.

  • Lead process redesign initiatives that improve consistency, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Talent Development & Mentorship

  • Mentor junior HR professionals and support their professional development.

  • Delegate responsibilities based on individual skills and capabilities.

  • Review work products for quality and provide constructive feedback.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with plant leadership, employees, and other internal stakeholders.

  • Communicate effectively across different levels of the organization.

  • Utilize strong negotiation and collaboration skills to align expectations and achieve business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong generalist HR background.

  • Previous manufacturing industry experience is required.

  • Experience supporting plant leaders and manufacturing employees.

  • Experience with onboarding, employee retention, interviewing, and recruiting.

  • Demonstrated experience leading HR projects and process improvement initiatives.

  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous HR Business Partner or HR Manager experience in a manufacturing/plant environment.

  • Experience with HR process automation and workflow improvements.

  • Experience developing or redesigning SOPs.

  • Experience using HR metrics and KPIs to support business decisions.

  • Experience mentoring or developing HR team members.

Work Arrangement

This is an onsite position in Abilene, TX. Candidates must be willing to work onsite at the facility. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
