The HR Operations Generalist owns day-to-day HR operations for Safe Harbor Lauderdale Marine Center, acting as the property's primary driver of accountability and culture. This role partners with every department leader on-site — Administration, Service, Marina, Business Management, and others — to ensure the Employee Handbook and company policies are understood and applied consistently across the whole property, not just within HR. The HR Operations Generalist is a strategic partner with a dotted line to the General Manager on performance management, employee relations, and workplace culture, and functionally reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Please note this role is 5 days onsite at Lauderdale Marine Center

• Serve as the property's owner of a culture of communication and accountability across all departments and shifts, ensuring every department leader delivers consistent messaging to their teams.
• Ensure the SHM Employee Handbook and all policies and procedures are understood, applied, and enforced consistently across every department at the property — proactively auditing manager decisions to correct inconsistent or incorrect application.
• Partner with department leaders to close gaps between stated policy and day-to-day practice; escalate patterns of noncompliance to the General Manager and Director of Human Resources.
• Lead annual staff engagement activities and other initiatives that promote teammate well-being and a positive, unified culture property-wide.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
• Serve as the liaison for teammate concerns across all departments; mediate conflicts and guide disciplinary processes fairly and consistently, regardless of department.
• Work with department managers on performance management, including development plans and disciplinary action, ensuring corrective actions are documented and applied consistently property-wide.
• Draft, review, and assist in the delivery of Corrective Action documentation, Performance Improvement Plans, and Catch a Teammate recognition cards.
• Work with department managers on involuntary terminations, ensuring adherence to Safe Harbor policy and all applicable labor laws.
• Coordinate performance review cycles across all departments and assist managers with goal setting, ensuring reviews are timely, constructive, honest, and legally compliant.
• Regularly meet with teammates across every department, listening for and resolving grievances before they escalate.
Recruiting & Onboarding
• Manage full-cycle recruiting for the property, including posting requisitions and coordinating interviews with hiring managers across departments.
• Coordinate offer letters and onboarding for new teammates in conjunction with the Regional HR Generalist, including background checks, I-9/E-Verify, and required federal and state documentation.
• Coordinate training for new hires and encourage attendance at teammate development, technician training, and other company initiatives across the property.
HR Operations & Compliance
• Maintain accurate, timely teammate records for the property in conjunction with the Regional HR Generalist.
• Ensure timely PTO scheduling — particularly for technicians — without disrupting property operations.
• Guide teammates on the use of UKG and other HRIS programs.
• Partner with Benefits, Payroll, Talent, and Teammate Development teams to ensure teammates' needs are met with excellence.
• Coordinate with HR Central Services/Legal on Workers' Compensation injuries, including teammate communication and documentation follow-up.
Training & Development
• Partner with Teammate Development to identify property-specific training needs and coordinate delivery, including leadership development for teammates and managers.
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
• Follow SH Safety and Environmental rules and complete all required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills, and near misses immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Human Resources.
Technical and Physical Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-4 years of relevant HR experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR metrics.
