Human Resources Senior Manager - Phantom Works

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Human Resources (HR) organization is currently seeking a Human Resources Senior Manager for the Phantom Works division located in Berkeley, Missouri. This role supports a $500M business with ~1,200 employees across multiple BDS sites.

This role will report directly to the BDS Chief HR Officer and be a key member of the BDS Phantom Works leadership team providing key HR support for the Phantom Works portfolio including proprietary efforts.

The key focus areas include deploying and executing Human Resources strategies, programs, policies and processes to advance organizational objectives. A successful candidate will have experience in talent management, independent judgment, strong collaboration across HR as well as the business, and the capability to influence others. This position will also require strong alignment with BDS Engineering HR to align critical people strategies and initiatives from a holistic HR perspective.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a key member of BDS HR and Phantom Works leadership teams ensuring alignment across BDS and BDS Engineering
  • Ensures critical focus on key BDS priorities to strengthen Phantom Works by developing solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity, innovation and are consistent with organization objectives
  • Uses business knowledge to make recommendations and proposals on key program and functional strategies
  • Develops long and short-term strategies involving policies and embeds people plans in the operating rhythm of the organization
  • Partners with Phantom Works to stand up Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to enable product-aligned teams to ensure cross-functional collaboration, rapid decision-making, and product-focused outcomes
  • Develops integrated HR initiatives and solutions to advance organizational objectives
  • Partners effectively across HR organizations to deliver high quality, seamlessly integrated operational HR support for the business, the employees and managers
  • Builds and sustains trusted relationships with senior executive leadership across the business
  • Leverages analytics (data, trends, predictive) to project business needs and plan actions
  • Provides effective consultative skills/talent management solutions that drive technical innovation and quality results
  • Partners with leaders to integrate functional, human resources, and organizational change management strategies and action plans to improve operational effectiveness, leadership, workforce planning, engagement and talent acquisition

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • 3+ years of experience leading direct reports
  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing strategies to meet organization objectives
  • 5+ years of experience interfacing with and presenting to senior and/or executive leadership, including creating executive level briefings
  • 5+ years of experience working with employees as a Human Resources Generalist (HRG) or Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience:


  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
  • Human Resources certification
  • 5+ years of experience in influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders, working across functions

Summary pay range: $182,750 - $247,250
