Job Summary

The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to critically ill and medically complex patients. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The RN demonstrates sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and compassion while delivering care consistent with hospital policies, evidence-based practice, and professional nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment.
  • Provide safe, compassionate care for critically ill and post-surgical patients.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning.
  • Delegate appropriate responsibilities while ensuring quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, safety, and exceptional patient care.
