Is this job info correct?

Build With Us LegalOS is a YC-backed startup combining AI with experienced attorney oversight to help talented professionals navigate business immigration. We support work visas and employment-based green cards, including H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, O-1, TN, EB-1A, EB-1C, and EB-2 NIW. AI supports the work; licensed attorneys make every legal decision. This is a startup operations role, not a traditional law firm role. We’re looking for an immigration professional who wants to help build a company: someone who spots problems, takes ownership, tries new approaches, and turns what works into processes the whole team can use. This is a long-term position for someone excited to grow with LegalOS. You’ll start close to the work, owning case operations and improving how we deliver them. As we scale rapidly, you’ll help hire, train, and manage a growing operations team while staying accountable for quality and execution. The Role You’ll report directly to the COO. You’ll own the operational side of our case portfolio, working closely with our supervising attorney and client-facing team. That means keeping cases moving today while building the workflows, tools, and team that will support a much larger business. You should enjoy working in an environment where priorities evolve and some processes still need to be built. You’ll use AI tools daily, test new ways of working, share candid feedback, and help decide what to improve next. We value the judgment to experiment with workflows while protecting accuracy, confidentiality, and attorney review. What You’ll Own Case execution: Manage business immigration cases from intake through filing and follow-up, coordinating timelines, evidence collection, petition preparation, and client communication. Petition quality: Prepare narratives, support letters, exhibits, and evidence packages using AI-assisted tools. Check the underlying facts and flag gaps, inconsistencies, and unverified claims for attorney review. Case preparation: Assess client materials against relevant criteria, identify missing evidence, and prepare recommendations for the supervising attorney’s review and legal decisions. Client experience: Communicate clearly over email, video, and Slack; provide proactive updates, answer procedural questions, and surface risks early. Better operations: Find bottlenecks, propose solutions, test new tools and workflows, and turn successful improvements into templates, playbooks, and repeatable processes. Product feedback: Bring practical feedback from casework to the team building our technology so our tools become more useful and reliable. Team growth: As we scale, help hire and onboard operations teammates, manage their work, coach them, and build clear expectations for quality, accountability, and client service. What you’ll Bring 1+ year of immigration experience, with hands-on involvement in preparing cases, organizing evidence, coordinating filings, or supporting clients. You bring a foundation in immigration processes and the drive to learn new case types; you do not need experience in every category we support. High agency: You take a problem from identification to resolution, seek the context you need, make thoughtful recommendations, and follow through without waiting for step-by-step instructions. A builder’s mindset: You’re willing to question an existing process, try something new, learn from results, and improve it. You want an active role in shaping how the company works. Curiosity about technology and enthusiasm for using AI in daily work. You don’t need to code or have prior AI experience; you do need to be ready to learn and experiment. Strong judgment, close attention to detail, and clear writing. You can manage competing case deadlines, incorporate feedback, and know when to escalate an issue. An interest in building a long-term career here and taking on people management as the company grows. You’re excited to help others succeed as well as deliver your own work. Availability to work in person at our San Francisco office five days per week. This is an in-office position, not a hybrid or remote role. Helpful experience includes business immigration casework across any of the categories we support, coaching or managing teammates, building processes in a small team, and using legal technology or document automation tools. A paralegal certificate, a related degree, or additional language skills are also welcome. Why LegalOS You’ll help founders, engineers, researchers, and other talented professionals build their lives and careers in the U.S. You’ll also have a direct hand in building LegalOS: influencing our tools, shaping how we serve clients, and developing a team as we grow. We want someone who is excited about both parts of that work. Compensation and benefits Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year, based on experience, depth of business immigration expertise, and case volume capacity. Benefits include health insurance and PTO, with potential equity participation for the right candidate. How to Apply Send us your resume and a brief note. Tell us why you want to build at a startup and share an example of a process you improved, a problem you took ownership of, or a new tool you tried. You’re also welcome to include an anonymized case you’re proud of. No formal cover letter is needed. LegalOS is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply. Visa: Will sponsor.
