To prove how far the instrument's power extends, we are assembling one hundred research fellows who will spend a year aiming it at the hardest unsolved problems in their fields — the diseases with no mechanism, the biology no one has decoded. Ten positions are filled. Ninety remain. The objective is one hundred discoveries.

This is the seat that builds the portfolio. You advise what a portfolio of one hundred discoveries should look like — which fields, which problems, which people — and you argue each position with a thesis, with evidence, and with your name on it. You hold a real voice in who joins, you own the map of where the book is thin, and once positions are placed, you manage the portfolio the way an investor manages one: watching what's working, doubling down where the returns are, making the case to exit or add. You run nothing operational. The return on this fund is measured in what humanity knows at the end that it did not know at the start.

No track record required. What you need is what your training was for: the scientific literacy to be treated as a peer by physician-scientists, and the judgment to see what a portfolio of discoveries cannot afford to miss. The trait we weight above every other is how fast you learn what no one can teach you.

The terms are plain: full-time, hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area, relocation and visa sponsorship where needed. Top of market base salary plus meaningful early-stage equity. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k).
