We are Tong Fong, a world/Chinese/Indian restaurant located in Soest, and we are looking for an Independent Chef to strengthen our kitchen team. Do you have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a dynamic kitchen environment? Then you might be the perfect fit for us! You will assist in preparing dishes and work closely with our kitchen team in a professional and organized setting.
Selecting and preparing ingredients (washing, cutting, mixing, etc.)
Performing quality checks during preparation (doneness, taste, color) and adjusting where necessary
Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene standards
Supervising kitchen assistants and correcting where needed
Managing inventory, ordering ingredients, and checking deliveries
Cleaning the workspace, kitchen equipment, and stations daily
Reporting technical issues and resolving minor malfunctions
Contributing ideas for menu composition, updates, and preparation methods
Ability to work independently and take initiative with a problem-solving mindset
Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
MBO-3 level of thinking/working (if you don’t fully meet this, you are still encouraged to apply)
Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
