Weyerhaeuser's Kenora Timberstrand Plant is seeking a permanent full-time Industrial Electrician to join our highly automated manufacturing operation in Kenora, Ontario. The plant manufactures TimberStrand engineered wood products in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This opportunity is well suited to a certified electrician who enjoys technical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, industrial automation, and working in a complex manufacturing environment. About the Facility The Kenora Timberstrand Plant is highly automated and includes multiple PLC, Motion Control, SCADA, and HMI systems, along with medium and low-voltage power distribution and motor control systems. • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC systems. • Motion control systems. • SCADA and HMI technologies, including GE iFIX HMIs. • Medium and low-voltage electrical distribution. • Motor control centres and VFD drives. • Industrial communication networks including EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Common Industrial Protocol. About the Role Reporting to the Electrical and Instrument Supervisor, the Industrial Electrician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, inspecting, and supporting electrical and electromechanical systems throughout the plant. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical power distribution systems, motor control centres, VFD drives, and motor control systems. • Maintain and troubleshoot integrated electromechanical systems, including pneumatic and complex hydraulic systems. • Troubleshoot, program, and maintain Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC controllers and related industrial networks. • Work with industrial technologies including EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, GE iFIX HMIs, and Common Industrial Protocol. • Utilize SAP CMMS to manage work orders, preventative maintenance activities, and task plans. • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks. • Complete electrical work related to new construction, maintenance projects, and plant improvements. Qualifications Required Qualifications • Provincial or Interprovincial Red Seal certification as an Electrician. • Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office. • Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that includes both days and nights. Preferred Qualifications • Three to five years of experience in an industrial environment. • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming. • Experience with SCADA, HMI, VFD, motor control, industrial networking, and automated manufacturing systems. • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system, such as SAP CMMS.
