Ideal candidate

We need a mid-senior engineer (4+ years) with a strong track record of building cloud infrastructure from the ground up in a startup environment. The non-negotiables are deep experience with a major cloud (AWS/GCP), production-level Kubernetes (including edge distributions like K3s), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform). They must have solid networking and security fundamentals (VPN, TLS, PKI) and be proficient in a systems language like Python or Go. This is a hands-on builder role requiring end-to-end ownership, not just maintenance.

Required

• Experience at robotics, defense, or security startups (e.g., Neuraprism, Helsing, Quantum Systems, Arc Robotics).
• Proven experience deploying and managing software on edge devices or physical hardware (e.g., OTA updates for IoT/robot fleets).
• Profiles showing a mix of cloud infrastructure and on-prem/hardened system experience.
• Candidates sourced from the UK, Berlin, Munich, or Poland.
• Authored or significantly contributed to internal developer platforms or tools that improved team velocity.
• High ownership and autonomy; thrives without micromanagement.

Dealbreakers

• Profiles indicating high ego or a preference for highly structured, large-scale corporate environments.
• Experience limited to maintaining existing infrastructure without evidence of building systems from scratch.
• Purely SaaS/web-scale cloud experience with no exposure to edge, IoT, or hardware deployments.
• Candidates unwilling to work on-site in Zurich (this is the strong default).
• CVs that focus heavily on certifications over hands-on project delivery.
