Due to internal movements within our Hawke's Bay team, we're looking for an
Intermediate or Senior Civil Engineer to join our Napier office and contribute to projects that support thriving, resilient communities across the region.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing Hawke's Bay team. Whether you're an established Intermediate Engineer looking to broaden your consulting experience or a Senior Engineer ready to lead projects, mentor others and strengthen client relationships, you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of meaningful projects across the region.
As part of our collaborative team, you'll work alongside engineers, scientists, planners and project managers to deliver practical and innovative solutions for clients across Hawke's Bay and beyond.
You'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects including:
- Flood protection and river engineering
- Land development and subdivision design
- Three waters infrastructure
- Roading and transport projects
- Coastal protection and resilience initiatives
- Public infrastructure and community asset upgrades
- Construction support and contract administration
This position is full-time and based in our Napier office. For the right person, relocation support may be available to help make the move as smooth as possible.

What you'll do
- Deliver civil infrastructure, land development, three waters, transport and resilience projects.
- Undertake civil design, technical assessments, reporting and preparation of design documentation.
- Support or lead project delivery, depending on your experience level.
- Engage with clients, councils, contractors and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Assist with construction monitoring and contract administration activities.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across T+T.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, business development and client relationship growth.
- Support and mentor junior engineers where appropriate.
- Help foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

We're interested in hearing from people who enjoy solving practical engineering challenges and want to make a meaningful contribution to the communities they work in.
For Intermediate Engineers, you may bring:
- Experience in civil engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
- Experience delivering civil infrastructure, land development, transport or three waters projects.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- A desire to continue developing your technical and consulting capability.
- Progress toward chartership.
For Senior Engineers, you may bring:
- Significant experience delivering civil engineering projects within a consulting environment.
- Strong technical capability across civil infrastructure and land development projects.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing project delivery.
- Well-developed client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers.
- Chartered Professional Engineer status, or equivalent experience, would be highly regarded.
