IT Analyst, Senior EMR EpicCare Ambulatory & Ambulatory Specialties

Bring your Epic expertise to technology that directly supports complex oncology and transplant care. As an IT Analyst, Senior, you will help clinicians deliver safe, efficient, and coordinated care by designing and optimizing the electronic workflows they rely on every day. This full-time, primarily remote position supports Epic Ambulatory and specialty applications across UVA Health. You will translate clinical and operational needs into effective technical solutions while contributing to upgrades, application optimization, production support, and projects that enhance both the clinician and patient experience. The Role You will join a knowledgeable Health Information Technology team responsible for supporting, optimizing, and enhancing Epic applications used by UVA Health’s oncology and transplant programs. Working closely with clinical, operational, and technical partners, you will coordinate the analysis, design, development, testing, validation, and implementation of EMR functionality. This is an opportunity for an experienced analyst who enjoys solving complex healthcare technology challenges, building trusted relationships, and balancing operational support with strategic project work. In this role, you will: Support Epic Ambulatory, Beacon, and/or Phoenix applications and the clinicians who use them. Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical requirements, data flows, process flows, and practical system solutions. Design, build, test, validate, implement, and maintain Epic functionality supporting patient care. Analyze clinical workflows and recommend improvements that advance safety, efficiency, application utilization, and user experience. Intake and triage enhancement requests, investigate production issues, and provide timely resolution and follow-through. Develop project scope documents, project plans, comprehensive test plans, implementation plans, and issue logs. Lead smaller internal projects, coordinate team assignments, monitor progress, and escalate risks or concerns early. Support Epic upgrades and help ensure that optimal features and functionality are delivered to end users. Participate in change control, user acceptance testing, implementation planning, and major go-live activities. Manage multiple concurrent priorities while communicating clearly with clinical leaders, operational partners, technical teams, and Epic representatives. Success in this position requires Epic Ambulatory certification and previous Epic analyst build and support experience. Epic Beacon or Phoenix certification, oncology or infusion workflow experience, ServiceNow experience, and experience leading Epic implementations or major initiatives are highly valued. The strongest candidates will be proactive, organized, self-directed, and comfortable working independently within a highly collaborative remote team. Flexible scheduling is available and can be discussed with the manager. Limited onsite presence may be required for major go-live events or other critical initiatives. The pay range for this role is $37.48 - $74.95 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
