Junior Marine Technician Sebago Watersports - Key West, FL 33040 Apply Overview Salary Range $50,000.00 - $50,000.00 Salary/year Travel Percentage Up to 50% Apply Description THE ROLE We are seeking recent graduates and early-career candidates to join our team as Junior Marine Technicians as part of a shared support model across multiple locations, including the Florida Keys, Turks & Caicos, and U.S. Virgin Islands. You will be based in the Florida Keys, supporting day-to-day fleet operations locally while traveling regularly to assist across our Caribbean markets—working across multiple Caribbean destinations and combining hands-on technical experience with the benefit of working in paradise. This is a hands-on opportunity to build foundational experience across multiple tropical locations and fleet environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in diagnosing and repairing marine engines, including either inboard diesel or outboard gasoline systems Gain hands-on exposure to platforms such as Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, and/or diesel systems depending on assignment Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, fluid services, impeller replacements, and zincs Troubleshoot and repair marine electrical systems, bilge systems, and instrumentation Conduct pre-season and post-season commissioning/decommissioning across fleet Coordinate parts procurement, maintain parts inventory logs, and manage vendor relationships on-site Support haul-out coordination and work with boatyard partners as needed Document all service work in maintenance logs; update fleet status reports daily Communicate proactively with on-site operations managers and coordinate with shore-based fleet management Maintain a safe, organized mobile work environment; comply with all OSHA and marine safety standards Respond to urgent vessel breakdowns and service calls during deployment windows TRAVEL & DEPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS This role requires travel (~50%) across multiple locations Primary base: Key West Regular travel to: U.S. Virgin Islands Turks and Caicos Typical deployment structure may include rotational assignments (e.g., 2 weeks on-site / 1 week in base market) depending on operational needs Ability to work independently with minimal supervision across remote locations Valid U.S. driver’s license Legal authorization to work in the United States Valid passport with at least 6 months validity; must be able to meet entry requirements for assigned international destinations Physically capable of working in marine environments (lifting 50+ lbs, confined spaces, heat and humidity exposure) Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Recent graduate of a marine, mechanical, or technical program preferred 0–2+ years of hands-on experience (internship/training acceptable) Basic understanding of marine engines or mechanical systems Exposure to outboard engines preferred Foundational knowledge of 12V systems is a plus PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Technical certifications or coursework in marine/diesel mechanics Internship or hands-on training experience Interest in multi-location marine operations COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Competitive base pay aligned with experience and entry-level market rates Relocation Asisstance Tool Allowance: Career development and hands-on training opportunities
