(Junior) Security Engineer (m/f/d)

In this role you will become a member of the Security Technology Section and will be responsible for managing and enhancing cutting-edge security solutions deployed across our data center. Your expertise will be crucial in conducting comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, ensuring the robustness and reliability of our security infrastructure. Additionally, you will contribute to our ongoing efforts to achieve and maintain ISO 27001 certification, reinforcing our commitment to the highest standards of information security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administration, configuration and maintenance of enterprise security solutions and SOC tools
• Deployment, operation and continuous optimization of EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) solutions
• Monitoring, analysis and investigation of security alerts, events and anomalies
• Identification, assessment and escalation of potential security incidents and threats
• Conducting regular vulnerability assessments of Hyundai, Kia and affiliated digital properties
• Prioritization of security risks and support of remediation activities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Analysis of security event patterns to improve threat detection and overall security posture
• Patching, updating and upgrading security systems within the data center environment
• Management and timely resolution of security-related tickets and incidents
• Preparation of vulnerability assessment reports and security recommendations for IT teams and project managers
• Collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure secure, resilient and compliant systems
• Continuous monitoring and optimization of security controls to maintain effective threat protection

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field
• 1-3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, penetration testing, application security, or a similar role
• Security-driven mindset with the ability to think from both an attacker’s and defender’s perspective
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation
• Proficiency in web technologies and scripting languages, including HTML, JavaScript, PHP, Python, and PowerShell
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to investigate complex security issues and provide effective remediation recommendations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in cross-functional environments
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, additional European language would be a plus
