Junior Security Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Security Engineer to support vulnerability management and help ensure the security of software systems across cloud environments. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has foundational knowledge of security tools and cloud platforms, and is ready to grow their skills while working closely with cross-functional teams to identify risks and support remediation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and tracking vulnerabilities in software systems
• Learn to use tools such as Qualys, Wireshark, Docker, and Kubernetes to help identify security vulnerabilities under guidance
• Support the team in reviewing the security of software systems on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Collaborate with IT Security, IT, and asset owners to help relay alerts and document recommended remediation steps
• Stay curious and keep learning about current security practices and emerging vulnerabilities

Requirements

• Up to 1 year of experience in security engineering, IT, or a related field (internships and academic projects count)
• Basic understanding of vulnerability management concepts; exposure to tools like Qualys is a plus
• Foundational knowledge of network security concepts and technologies
• Basic familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Capability to work remotely and independently, with no work from the office required
• Proficiency in English at a B2 level
• Willingness to learn and grow within a security engineering role

Nice to have

• Coursework, certifications, or self-study in DevOps and security monitoring
• Basic familiarity with security technologies like Wireshark, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Exposure to Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure through personal projects, labs, or coursework
