Lab Technician (Ref. LAB/26/13)

IRB Barcelona seeks an enthusiastic Lab Technician to join our Molecular Modelling and Bioinformatics.

Our research focuses on the study of molecular recognition processes of biological significance from methodological and application points of view. The main subjects addressed are the structure of non-standard nucleic acids, the dynamic properties of macromolecules, and protein-ligand and protein-protein recognition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a candidate to work on routine laboratory, record and analize data accurately, assist researchers with the proiects, development and maintenance of group web-servers, development of data bases, provide support for programming task.

Our informatics team works building a bridge between researchers (biologists, chemists, physicists, mathematicians, etc.) and the computational science field, applying software best practices to the existing codes, making them more usable, reproducible and interoperable.

YOU HAVE

• Bachelor degree or higher in Mathematics, Physics or similar.

• Strong organizatorial and multitasking skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Highly motivated and collaborative person.

• Willing to keep on learning.

• Ability to work independently in a demanding research environment.

YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE

• Familiarity with C, C++, Python, Matplotlib, MS Office, and AI algorithms (Pandas and Scikit-learn).

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Scientific programming, problem-solving, and data analysis.
