Labratory Systems Integration Specialist

Catalyx is seeking a Lab Systems Integration Specialist to join our team and work on our customer site in Cork.

The Role:

The Laboratory Systems Integration Specialist will be responsible for the configuration and integration of new computer systems in the Quality Control laboratory. The role involves taking vendor software and fitting it into the site’s IT infrastructure and data management systems, making sure it is fully compliant with regulatory requirements.

This is a systems integration role rather than a traditional IT role: most of the work is systems analysis, systems configuration and data management. The successful candidate will join the Quality Control Lab Services Team, supporting both new and ongoing projects, and will receive full training. This is a hybrid role

Responsibilities:

• Configure and integrate new software-controlled laboratory instruments and systems into the site’s IT infrastructure, covering applications, operating systems, data management, backup solutions and system interfaces.

• Analyse how each laboratory system creates, stores and manages data, and configure it to meet data integrity and regulatory requirements, including 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11.

• Own and manage your own integration projects from start to finish, while also carrying out hands-on technical work.

• Investigate and solve complex technical problems with vendor software, staying focused on a problem until it is resolved.

• Work closely with laboratory users, IT, vendors and other stakeholders, building strong working relationships across different functions.

• Author and review technical documentation for laboratory systems, and contribute to validation and risk assessment activities.

• Balance multiple short and long-term projects and changing priorities.

What we would like from you:

• A Level 8 degree, ideally in a science discipline such as Physics, Chemistry or Biology. Degrees in Engineering, IT, Mathematics or another technical discipline will also be considered.

• A willingness to learn new ways of working. Full training will be provided.

• A technical, analytical mindset and a genuine interest in computers and technology. Previous experience in a technical role is not required.

• The ability to focus deeply on complex problems for long periods, sometimes months at a time.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex projects with many moving parts.

• An appreciation of GMP or other regulated environments is an advantage but not essential. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Some scripting experience is a plus, but programming experience is not required.
