About the Role

This is a senior engineering position on a small, high-ownership team building next-generation contract intelligence software for the enterprise. You will work directly with founders and report to a former startup CEO, shaping the technical direction of an AI-powered legal tech platform at a critical growth stage.

What You'll Do

Architect, develop, and own user-facing application features across the full stack, including both back-end and front-end systems.
Design and build AI agents and intelligent workflows using modern agent frameworks.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver production-quality software.
Drive technical strategy and roadmaps, and promote sound engineering practices across the team.
Define and implement metrics and measurements of success for the engineering team.
Initiate and lead technical projects with significant autonomy and direct business impact.

What We're Looking For

8+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with at least 4 years building AI products in production environments.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL/Postgres; proficiency in at least one additional language (JavaScript, Go, Java, or similar).
Hands-on experience building AI applications or agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
Production experience integrating large language model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent).
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Background in SaaS startups with direct ownership of shipped, end-to-end systems.
Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a small, focused team.
Breadth across AI/ML engineering rather than deep specialization in a single narrow subfield.
Familiarity with JavaScript, React, or comparable modern front-end frameworks is a plus.
Experience with LLM monitoring, observability, or evaluation tooling is a plus.
Experience fine-tuning or training machine learning models is a plus.
CS degree or equivalent professional experience.
