Is this job info correct?

Critical facility power infrastructure is an engineering discipline where the margin for error is effectively zero. Uptime is non-negotiable, redundancy has to be designed in from the start, and the electrical systems supporting these facilities need to be robust enough to meet demands that only keep growing. If you have built your expertise in HV and MV electrical systems with a focus on reliability, resilience, and critical power delivery, this role is worth your full attention.

Company Information

Our client is an internationally recognised engineering and consultancy organisation delivering complex infrastructure solutions across the built environment. Their electrical engineering team works on large-scale, technically demanding projects including mission critical facilities and data center developments, covering the full project lifecycle from early feasibility and concept development through to detailed engineering and delivery. This is a team where technical depth, cross-discipline collaboration, and a genuine commitment to resilient and future-proof infrastructure define how they work.

Vacancy Information

As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing HV and MV electrical concepts and infrastructure solutions for mission critical facilities and large-scale data center projects. Your focus sits at the intersection of power system design, grid connection strategy, and critical facility reliability. You understand how power is delivered to facilities that cannot afford to go offline, how redundancy architectures are designed and validated, and how large power consumers interact with grid operators and utility providers.

You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team across concept design, basic engineering, and detailed engineering phases, coordinating with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to deliver electrical infrastructure that is robust, scalable, and built for operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing HV and MV electrical concepts and power distribution architectures for data centers and other mission critical facilities.
  • Supporting grid connection strategies and coordinating with utility providers, TSOs, and DSOs throughout the project.
  • Defining electrical distribution architectures and power supply concepts that meet the reliability and redundancy requirements of critical facilities.
  • Developing and reviewing substation interfaces, transformer configurations, switchgear arrangements, and power distribution systems.
  • Advising on redundancy and resilience strategies including N, N plus 1, 2N, and dual power path architectures for critical power infrastructure.
  • Performing power system studies, load assessments, and technical evaluations across project phases.
  • Supporting projects through concept design, basic engineering, and detailed engineering phases.
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing electrical designs to ensure reliability, maintainability, and long-term operational resilience.
  • Supporting the development of scalable infrastructure capable of meeting increasing power demands over time.

What You Need

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience with HV and MV electrical systems with a strong background in substations, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution networks.
  • Experience working with utilities, TSOs, DSOs, or other grid operators on connection strategies and utility interface requirements.
  • Strong understanding of power system reliability and resilience principles with practical knowledge of redundancy concepts including N, N plus 1, 2N, and dual power path architectures.
  • Experience with grid connection studies and the technical and commercial requirements that come with them.
  • Experience participating in and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects across multiple phases.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage across project teams, clients, and utility partners.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

If you do not meet every requirement but have a strong background in HV and MV electrical engineering with experience in critical facilities or large-scale power infrastructure, we still encourage you to apply. The right combination of technical experience, motivation, and willingness to grow can make you a strong candidate.
