Job Description Summary As a Lead Engineer - Engineering Metrics & Operations, you will drive initiatives that improve the effectiveness, execution, and operational rigor of the Engineering function. In this role, you will coordinate across engineering and partner functions to manage key metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiatives that support business and program objectives. You will help establish visibility to performance, improve operating mechanisms, and enable consistent execution across the organization. This role requires strong collaboration, analytical thinking, and the ability to work with some autonomy within established policies and business priorities. You will be expected to recommend and implement improvements to processes and practices while ensuring outcomes meet expectations for quality, timeliness, and operational impact. Job Description Key Responsibilities Drive initiatives to improve the overall effectiveness and operating rhythm of the Engineering function. Develop, maintain, and analyze engineering metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators to support decision-making and leadership reviews. Coordinate across engineering, program management, quality, supply chain, finance, and other functions to ensure alignment on priorities, actions, and deliverables. Support departmental operations planning and execution , including tracking milestones, action items, risks, and key dependencies. Lead and coordinate cross-functional improvement initiatives , ensuring timely follow-up, issue resolution, and clear communication to stakeholders. Evaluate existing functional processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, visibility, standardization, and execution discipline. Prepare and deliver concise status updates, management reports, and executive-ready summaries on performance, risks, and progress against objectives. Help establish consistent business rhythms for reviews, metrics reporting, and action tracking. Modify and improve procedures and practices, as appropriate, to achieve required outcomes within established quality, volume, and timeliness expectations. Partner with functional leaders to identify operational gaps, define corrective actions, and implement sustainable solutions. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve coordination, and enhance organizational effectiveness. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related technical field from an accredited university. Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering operations, project execution, program coordination, functional excellence, or a related role within an engineering, manufacturing, or aerospace environment. Experience developing and managing metrics, dashboards, and performance reporting . Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple functions and influence outcomes without direct authority. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to leadership and stakeholders. Ability to work with moderate autonomy while operating within established policies, processes, and business objectives. Ability to provide technical input to software development team with an adaptive AGILE framework. This position requires U.S. citizenship status. Desired Qualifications Experience in aerospace, aviation, or other highly regulated technical industries. Familiarity with engineering operating mechanisms, functional reviews, and business performance management. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, FLIGHT DECK, or Lean Six Sigma . Proficiency with reporting and planning tools such as Excel, OpenPlan, Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar dashboard/project tools. Experience in government program execution under Earned Value Management System or formal Program Management Professional (PMP) training. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail. Demonstrated experience supporting cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution. Ability to travel as required (10% or less). The base pay range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
