Job Description Summary

The Advanced Nuclear (AN) Lead Inquiry to Order (ITO) Project Manager leads the project planning phase for small to mid-sized customer proposals. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the scope, schedule, budget, and risk profile for your assigned opportunities. You will partner with the Commercial Operations team to translate customer requirements into executable project plans. By leveraging cross-functional input and institutional project knowledge, you will ensure that proposals are accurate, compliant, and grounded in delivery reality.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Proposal Ownership: Lead the project planning process for assigned proposals; define scope, schedule, budget, and risk mitigation strategies to support a successful customer offering.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Orchestrate input from internal stakeholders (Engineering, Supply Chain, Licensing, etc.) to ensure technical and operational alignment on project deliverables.
• Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): Partner with resource managers to accurately identify the personnel and operational resources required to execute the proposed work; ensure these align with current business capacity.
• Schedule, Cost & Risk Management: Develop comprehensive project schedule & cost estimates for your assigned proposals. Proactively identify, assess, and document project risks and mitigation plans.
• Commercial Partnership: Collaborate with Commercial Operations to integrate project management deliverables (scope, schedule, budget, execution plans) into the final deal structure.
• Lessons Learned: Actively incorporate relevant lessons learned into new proposal planning and contribute new insights from active projects into the internal database.
• Documentation & Governance: Develop required proposal documentation; facilitate internal reviews to ensure conformance with contract requirements, GVH processes/procedures, and applicable nuclear laws/regulations.
• Execution Continuity: Maintain "execution readiness" by staying informed of project execution status; this ensures that new proposals remain informed by current field performance.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 4 years of project experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 2 years of experience managing projects (Nuclear preferred; Energy or large-scale industrial projects accepted).
• Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).

Eligibility Requirements

• The preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) headquarters in Wilmington, NC (Relocation assistance provided), but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.
• This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and quality objectives independently.
• Proficiency with project management software and advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong ability to influence stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail; process-oriented approach.
• Ability to balance workload under short deadlines and changing priorities.
• Demonstrated professional interpersonal skills, including high levels of motivation, integrity, and self-confidence.
• Experience or familiarity with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) designs.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $87,000.00 and $145,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
