Lead Kotlin Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Kotlin Engineer to guide the design and delivery of scalable backend systems while providing technical leadership across the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of backend services using Kotlin
• Design and maintain distributed systems with a focus on caching strategies, queues, and event-driven processing
• Drive the implementation of service-contract frameworks using gRPC, Protobuf, and REST
• Oversee data modeling and integration efforts across DynamoDB and PostgreSQL
• Establish best practices for CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• Mentor engineers and provide technical direction within a leadership capacity
• Collaborate on the integration of LLM/AI engineering solutions, including RAG pipelines and agentic patterns
• Evaluate and adopt orchestration frameworks and managed RAG/vector services to support AI-driven features
• Ensure high standards of scalability, reliability, and maintainability across cloud-based deployments

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• Proficiency in Kotlin
• Strong experience with AWS, particularly EKS, along with Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience in CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong experience with gRPC, Protobuf, and HTTP/REST as service-contract frameworks
• Hands-on experience with DynamoDB and PostgreSQL, including data modeling for product features
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, including caching strategies, queues, eventual consistency, and asynchronous/event-driven processing
• Solid grounding in LLM/AI engineering fundamentals, including prompt design, RAG pipelines, agentic patterns, tool use, and LLM evaluation
• Hands-on experience with Spring AI LLM orchestration framework or similar frameworks
• Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock AgentCore and Knowledge Bases or similar managed RAG/vector services
• English proficiency at B2+ level or above
