Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to lead complex mechanical hardware designs while managing and mentoring a small team of engineers. This role will drive technical milestones, lead design reviews, resolve complex design challenges, and ensure designs meet customer and product requirements.


Our liquid cooling systems are deployed in large AI data centers to improve energy efficiency and are also used in semiconductor test equipment for precise thermal control.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with system architects to define mechanical and thermal architectures.
  • Lead mechanical design, prototyping, validation, and product releases.
  • Manage external suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Lead design reviews, resolve complex issues, and evaluate engineering trade-offs.
  • Develop innovative and potentially patentable solutions.
  • Oversee mechanical layouts using 3D CAD and other engineering tools.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering projects and mentor junior engineers.
  • Apply DFM, tolerance analysis, FEA, interference checks, and manufacturing principles throughout the design process.
  • Identify project risks, establish milestones, and drive projects through a stage-gate development process.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS/PhD preferred.
  • 6+ years of mechanical design, verification, or related engineering experience.
  • Proven experience taking mechanical products through full-cycle design and into production.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD, FEA, tolerance analysis, DFM, and manufacturing principles.
  • Experience leading engineering projects and cross-functional design reviews.
