We are looking for a skilled Lift Mechanic Level 2 or 3 to repair and maintain our chairlifts. The ideal candidate is proficient in working on equipment such as bearings, transmissions, hydraulics, and engines. To be successful in this position you will have experience working in the ski industry or at a lift operated organization, have an excellent attention to detail, and will perform all duties following safety regulations and standards. Base Pay: Starts at $25/hr Location: Mountain Relocation Stipend: Yes Employee Type: Hourly, non-exempt Job Category: Full Time Year-Round Benefitted Required Certs or Licenses: Valid driver’s license Leadership Responsibilities: None Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, flexible, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends, holidays, and some evenings (night skiing) Minimum Age: 21 Estimated start date: Now hiring Employee Benefits : https://www.angelfireresort.com/work-for-us/employee-benefits/ Employee Housing: https://www.angelfireresort.com/work-for-us/employee-housing/ Job Details: Lift Mechanics maintain the Angel Fire Resort chairlifts and surface lifts according to all applicable codes and standards by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned) Inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions Diagnoses equipment failure in a safe, accurate, and prudent manner Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system as directed by the Director of Lifts Tests machines and equipment following repair to ensure the safe operation of equipment Operates metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder to make or repair parts Modifies computer-controlled system of high speed, detachable chairlifts Implements lift preventative maintenance program as established by Director of Lifts, ANSI, and State and Federal regulations Utilizes radios to communicate with lift maintenance employees and other mountain operation employees Maintains daily maintenance logs and completion of work orders Maintains a high level of respect for property, including tools, spaces, vehicles, resources, and facilities Tracks and properly stores all tools, supplies, and equipment used for the job Completes all tasks as regulated by State and Federal environmental standards and OSHA regulations Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to five years related experience including chairlift/cable transportation operations and/or related maintenance experience Valid Driver’s License with driving record insurable under the resort insurance Ability to ride all lifts; climb all lift towers and structures; and drive snowmobiles, UTV’s and trucks Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time About Angel Fire Resort: Angel Fire Resort is a top year-round mountain resort destination in New Mexico.
