About The Role

We're looking for a Light Vehicle Mechanic to join us at Peak Mine.

In this role, you'll play an important part in keeping our light vehicle fleet safe, reliable and ready to support our operations. You'll work alongside an experienced team, using your troubleshooting and technical skills to service, diagnose and repair vehicles and ancillary equipment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

  • Roster: 7/7, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)
  • Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW

Travel options

  • Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance
  • DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance

FIFO is not offered for this role

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair Toyota LandCruisers, Hiluxes, Prados, Fortuners and HiAce vehicles across site operations
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
  • Complete preventative maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in Pronto
  • Support apprentices and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Uphold high safety, housekeeping and quality standards

Qualifications And Experience

  • Trade qualification in Automotive (Certificate III or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years post-trade experience working on 4WD light vehicles
  • Experience with Toyota vehicles highly regarded
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship
  • Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence

Desirable

  • Mining or heavy industry experience
  • Air conditioning repair certification
  • Auto electrical experience
