We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy. New technologies and the New England region’s economy-wide decarbonization efforts are driving a profound transformation in the work of the Forecast Group within System Planning. Responsible for analytics and predictive modeling of the region’s electricity demand across all timescales—spanning both short-term and long-term time horizons—the Forecast Group is innovating and redesigning its forecasting methods, software, and tools to meet changing trends in how retail customers procure, manage and use electricity. This role requires a self-starter with demonstrated ability to work seamlessly both unsupervised and in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. T here are two open positions, each having a respective emphasis on either short - or long - range forecasting . Both roles provide an opportunity to lead the team’s development of next generation forecasting tools and methodologies that are integral to the planning and operation of the future grid. NOTE: This role is currently located in Windsor, CT until it permanently moves to Holyoke, MA, which is currently expected to occur in 2028. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Desired but not required: Experience in electricity consumption modelling or economic modelling in the energy sector Knowledge about distributed energy resources (e.g. photovoltaics, batteries), electric vehicles, and/or cold-climate heat pumps This employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position (ex: H-1B, F-1/CPT/OPT, O-1, E-3, TN, J, etc.). The expected salary range for the Associate to Mid-Level is $86,000 - $120,000 per year. We will also consider a Senior or Lead. The pay range for the Senior to Lead level is $117,000 - $146,000 annually.
