Maintenance Planner

High Prairie, Alberta

Behind every safe, reliable, and high-performing mill is a well-executed maintenance plan. As an experienced Maintenance Planner, you will help drive operational excellence by coordinating priorities, optimizing resources, and keeping critical work on track. If you enjoy bringing order to complexity and working with a team that values collaboration and continuous improvement, this could be the opportunity for you.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our High Prairie OSB Division, located in High Prairie, Alberta. Our mill has undergone an exciting major rebuild and modernization including the commissioning of a new continuous press making us one of the most modern mills in North America.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • A strong technical background, gained through relevant post-secondary education.
  • Experience building comprehensive job plans and work packages.
  • Coordination experience for maintenance outages (both minor and major).
  • Experience building work schedules to optimize maintenance opportunities in a 24/7 operation.
  • MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) Certification or Maintenance Planning Certificate considered an asset.
  • Understanding stores/spare parts management processes and know how to utilize the resources available to you and plan for the future.
  • In-depth understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance practices, along with advanced skills in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience creating, revising, and maintaining Bills of Material.
  • Ability to work with a team of planners and effectively collaborate across functional teams.

We value diversity at Tolko and know that experience and knowledge comes in many forms. Even if you don't have all the qualifications above, please apply. We would love to hear your story and have you grow with us.

In this role you will:

  • Build routine and extended outage maintenance plans to keep the mill running reliably.
  • Efficiently manage both major and minor maintenance outages.
  • Ensure staffing, tools, equipment and materials are in place to support our team of trades personnel, allowing them to safely and quickly complete planned maintenance.
  • Partner with departments across the mill to deliver excellent customer service.

So, what’s in it for you?

  • You’ll take on an exciting new challenge with supportive team members.
  • You’ll earn a competitive salary based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $107,000 per year.
  • You'll earn an additional northern allowance on top of your base pay.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Tolko’s bonus program.
  • You’ll be eligible for excellent benefits and access to our retirement plans, so you don’t have to choose between your bottom line and your wellbeing or your future.
  • You may also be eligible for relocation support including community connections so you can live (and play) where you work.
  • You’ll be supported in continued development through on-the-job and classroom training and reimbursement of tuition and membership fees.
  • You’ll be part of a positive, innovative, and inclusive work environment.
