MAIT Lead Engineer, Satellite Manufacturing
Scandinavia | Fully onsite, relocation required (support available)
Approx. €50,000 to €65,000 a year
Ready to step up from building satellites to leading the team that builds them?
Our client is part of one of Europe’s largest satellite manufacturing groups. They need a MAIT Lead Engineer to run manufacturing, assembly, integration and test at satellite level.
You’ll lead a team of around 10 technicians across several ESA missions, as well as the company’s own in-house satellites. Those satellites come in very different sizes, so you’ll pick up a breadth of experience most AIT engineers take a whole career to collect.
What’s in it for you
- A real step up. You’ll lead a team of around 10 and own the day-to-day plan, rather than following someone else’s.
- A clear path. It reports to the Head of the function, and the long-term route leads into that role.
- Variety. You’ll work across multiple ESA programmes and in-house missions, and across a range of satellite sizes.
- Autonomy. You’ll be trusted to run things your way, solve problems and improve the processes.
- Customer-facing work. You’ll be the main contact for customers, with 1 to 5 international trips a year.
- English is the working language. You won’t need Swedish.
What you’ll need
- An engineering degree
- At least 5 years in AIT or production within a high-quality, safety-critical environment. Aerospace is ideal, but precision engineering such as medical devices also counts.
- Some experience leading a team
- Strong planning skills and good attention to quality and cost
- Fluent English
- EU nationality
Cleanroom experience and knowledge of aerospace standards would help, but aren’t essential.
