Reports to (Role): Lead

Overall Purpose:

The job holder shall manage the Compliance activities within Central Data Governance section by defining processes and practices to enable effective continuous monitoring of compliance with the data governance framework. The job holder shall ensure effective performance of tracking, enforcement of data governance compliance and comprehensive documentation thereof for reporting and audit purposes.

Key Responsibilities

The job holder will be responsible for:

  • Coordination and Oversight
    • Coordinating activities related to compliance carried out by the section
    • Defining processes and practices to enable effective continuous monitoring of compliance with the data governance framework.
    • Ensuring effective performance of tracking, enforcement of data governance compliance and comprehensive documentation thereof for reporting and audit purposes.

  • Compliance Monitoring
    • Ensuring that remediation actions arising from data governance non-compliance are tracked to resolution.
    • Creating and maintaining dashboards to facilitate monitoring and reporting of data governance compliance metrics.
    • Driving efforts to safeguard compliance in metadata management practices in line with the framework.

  • Strategic Input and Risk Management
    • Supporting the Lead in providing effective input to the data strategy, the Data Governance Framework and other data governance artifacts with a view to continuously enhance the Bank's data governance compliance and reporting standards.
    • Supporting the Lead in engaging in data-related risk management.
    • Supporting the Lead in identifying knowledge gaps and upskilling requirements across the Bank in data governance compliance.

  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Supporting the Lead in liaising with relevant stakeholders to participate in activities relating to the identification, assessment and management of material changes impacting the Data Governance Framework (DGF), data sources, systems and processes, particularly those impacting RDARR.
    • Supporting the Lead with coordination of the Data Council.

In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

  • Ability to take initiative, work under pressure and unsupervised.
  • Highly responsible, committed and confident and good attention to detail.
  • Willingness to remain updated continuously on areas related to the field.

Required Criteria

Previous proven work experience of five (5) years in Information Management, Data Management, Governance environment or related area, and an MQF Level 6 Award in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.

OR

Previous proven work experience of seven (7) years in Information Management, Data Management, Governance environment or related area.

OR

Previous proven work experience of three (3) years in Information Management, Data Management, Governance environment or a related area, and an MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.

In the shortlisting process, preference may be given to candidates meeting the third required criteria.

Desirable Criteria

Previous proven work experience within banking or financial services and certification related to data management, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), and relevant certifications in data privacy and compliance (e.g., CIPP, CIPM).
