Job Summary

Overall Purpose:

The job holder is responsible for managing various tasks relating to the implementation and ongoing maintenance of systems and data impacting finance, the design and maintenance of accurate and timely performance and ad-hoc reporting and other duties that may be required from the Financial Performance & Analysis (FP&A) team, which strives to oversee financial performance through the timely delivery of insightful reports and analysis to key stakeholders of the Bank.

The manager will play a key role within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, applying robust technical and programming skills to enhance the bank's financial reporting and analysis processes, as an enabler for senior management to take critical business decisions. The job holder is responsible for the development and implementation of dashboards, analysing ways to streamline, automate and improve efficiencies within FP&A and collaborate with other stakeholders in order to support strategic objectives and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

The job holder will be responsible for:

  • Financial Performance and Insight Generation:
    • Leading and supporting the production of routine and ad hoc management reporting including segment analysis, KPIs, and business line performance.
    • Utilising business intelligence tools such as Power BI to transform complex data into clear and actionable dashboards.
    • Contributing to the development and automation of analytical models and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Supporting advanced financial analysis and automation initiatives through experience in Python and SQL
    • Providing deep analytical insights and actionable recommendations to senior management based on model outputs.

  • Reporting and Advanced Analytics:
    • Preparing detailed reports, analysis and presentations for senior management and committees.
    • Developing and monitoring key performance indicators, analysing trends and providing data-driven insights for financial performance measurement and optimisation.
    • Employing advanced data visualisation techniques to communicate complex findings effectively.

  • Quantitative Development and Automation:
    • Utilising advanced PowerBI/Python skills to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and analytical applications.
    • Driving process automation by developing scalable tools and scripts that streamline data collection, quantitative analysis, and reporting, significantly improving efficiency and accuracy.

  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Acting as a key contact between the FP&A team and other units within Finance and senior management.
    • Communicating complex models and concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Participating in cross-functional projects and initiatives that have a significant impact on the operations and efficiencies of the unit and Finance in general.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Researching, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge methodologies and best practices in Power BI / Python development and integration / automation.
    • Remaining current with financial and technological advancements, particularly in reporting and data modelling tools.
    • Leading the development and implementation of new methodologies in systems integration, specifically between Power BI, Python and D365.

In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Criteria

Previous proven work experience of four (4) years in FP&A, Business Controlling or a related analytical/quantitative role within the banking or financial services industry, and an MQF Level 5 Award in Finance, Data Analytics, Business Management or a related field.

OR

Previous proven work experience of five (5) years in FP&A, Business Controlling or a related analytical/quantitative role within the banking or financial services industry

OR

Previous proven work experience of two (2) years in FP&A, Business Controlling or a related analytical/quantitative role within the banking or financial services industry, and an MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Business Management or a related field.

In the shortlisting process, preference may be given to candidates meeting the second required criteria.

Desirable Criteria:

Possession of a postgraduate certification in SQL and/or Python.

This requirement shall not apply where applicants are already in possession of an MQF Level 6 Degree or higher.
