ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC) IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canada's oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion, not including vast land holdings, IRC is responsible for corporate investment, land management, and a broad range of social, cultural, and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. Its subsidiaries have interests in grocery, manufacturing, property management, transportation, and significant dealings in the oil and gas industry. Since its inception, IRC has experienced considerable growth and its structure and operations have become increasingly complex. Combining local government and service delivery, community development, investment, and operating business divisions, all managed by a single back office, the organization has an array of complexities for the executive staff to navigate. There is an emphasis on fostering understanding, healing, and resilience in a region brimming with unique social challenges and immense potential for transformative change. JOB SUMMARY The ILA Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Inuvialuit Land Administration (ILA) and supporting the Director of ILA in the administration, stewardship, and oversight of Inuvialuit-owned lands within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. This position oversees land use applications, permitting processes, compliance activities, land management systems, staff coordination, community engagement, and operational reporting. The ILA Manager ensures that daily land administration activities are carried out efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, IRC policies, approved departmental priorities, and Inuvialuit values. The ILA Manager provides operational leadership to ILA staff and supports the Director of ILA on strategic initiatives, complex files, stakeholder matters, and land management priorities. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be/have: An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered. Experience in land management, environmental stewardship, natural resource management, permitting, compliance, or a related field. Experience supervising staff, coordinating a team, or supporting day-to-day operations. Preference may be given to candidates with the following: A degree or diploma in land management, environmental studies, natural resource management, public administration, Indigenous governance, planning, law, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with Indigenous organizations, governments, communities, or land claim implementation is an asset. Experience interpreting agreements, legislation, policies, land use requirements, or regulatory processes is an asset. Experience working in northern, remote, or cross-cultural environments is an asset. Please refer to the job description for a full list of duties and qualifications.
