Role Overview The Manufacturing Specialist supports the development and execution of advanced CNC automation systems within Hadrian’s factories. This role operates at the intersection of Applications Engineering, CNC Controls, and shop floor operations. What You’ll Do Technical & Shop Floor Execution Collaborate with Applications Engineers in machine setup, material preparation, tool and probe builds, and execution of development and validation runs. Execute tool life studies, new tool evaluations, and structured test programs. Tool crib support including Zoller / Omega troubleshooting, software update installs, license installs, and tooling troubleshooting. Assist CNC Controls Engineers with diagnostic routines such as ballbar analysis, probing validation, and hardware recovery. Perform internal machining operations to support production and development needs. Machine commissioning, probe calibration, machine kinematics calibration, machine alarm and Blum laser trouble shooting. Track and manage development tooling and materials inventory. Document procedures and contribute to technician training materials. Development & Systems Support Assist in testing new macros, automation features, and machine agent capabilities. Provide hands-on machine operation to unblock engineering workflows. Capture structured feedback from the shop floor to improve automation systems. Identify recurring issues and surface patterns for engineering analysis. Operational Triage, Troubleshooting & Process Formalization Serve as the first line of response for non-maintenance operational issues. Conduct structured troubleshooting and escalate issues with clear documentation. Partner with Engineering and Operations to formalize processes that improve reliability and reduce repeat disruptions. Contribute to scalable documentation standards and feedback loops that strengthen factory performance. Required Qualifications 1+ year experience as factory technician Minimum 6 months experience operating CNC machines Working knowledge of CNC machining and tooling fundamentals. Basic troubleshooting capability across mechanical and software systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
