Mechanical Test Technician | Fargo, ND JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team in Fargo, ND as a Mechanical Test Technician. You will be part of a group of engineers dedicated to high-quality work, value-add solutions, skill development, and career growth. Employees working in Fargo, ND have a short commute from Moorhead, Dilworth, and Horace and will enjoy professional growth and community engagement through our regional presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota. As a Mechanical Test Technician , you will: Hands‑on role supporting mechanical and component testing for tractor systems and assemblies Works closely with test engineers to set up, execute, and document structured test procedures Performs mechanical assembly of tractor frames, hydraulic systems, drivetrains, and related components for test readiness Builds and installs assemblies into test fixtures, ensuring all components, bolts, and fasteners meet engineering specifications to eliminate test variability Conducts test execution, data gathering, and performance reporting to support engineering analysis Makes design or performance recommendations based on test results and observed system behavior Performs instrumentation setup, sensor verification, and basic calibration checks to ensure accurate data collection Supports both component‑level and system‑level testing in a shop environment with daily hands‑on mechanical work Ideal for technicians seeking a more analytical career path or entry‑level engineers wanting strong hands‑on exposure Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners Contribute to projects that impact communities in Moorhead, Dilworth, and Horace and the greater Fargo metro area Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation QUALIFICATIONS Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience working on heavy equipment, ag machinery, or automotive systems Experience with mechanical assembly, hydraulic systems, engines, drivetrains, or related mechanical systems Comfortable working in a shop environment with daily hands‑on tasks Ability to follow engineering specifications, torque requirements, and assembly instructions with high accuracy Experience performing test setup, instrumentation installation, or basic calibration checks Ability to gather data, document results, and communicate findings to engineering teams Familiarity with tractors, off‑road equipment, or agricultural applications helpful Farming or end‑use application knowledge beneficial but not required Strong interest in learning, growing, and moving into more analytical or engineering‑aligned work 2‑year technical degree or engineering coursework helpful but not required 2+ years of technician experience preferred, but entry‑level engineers with strong hands‑on skills encouraged to apply Capable of working independently and as a team member Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking Effective verbal and written communication Desire to work on a variety of projects ESTIMATED PAY RANGE Technician I: $28.59-$32.87/hour Technician II: $33.21-$38.20/hour Technician III: $37.80-$43.48/hour Senior Technician : $42.43-$48.80/hour Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. Paid overtime may be available.
