Job Description

Colony Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Director to join our small animal and exotic practice in Newport News, VA. Nestled in the southeast Tidewater region, we’re surrounded by beautiful beaches and just a short drive from the Appalachian Mountains and Washington, D.C. For more than 60 years, our AAHA-accredited hospital has been providing compassionate, elevated veterinary care to a loyal and long-established clientele.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide medical leadership and mentor associate veterinarians
  • Ensure high-quality patient care while balancing regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager on operational and business initiatives
  • Guide the hospital team in maintaining and growing specialized services

Requirements

  • Licensure to practice in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA license in good standing
  • Ability and willingness to teach and mentor associates
  • Fear Free Practices and/or Orthopedic experience is a bonus!
