The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic and organised
individual who has experience in carrying out a range of
administrative duties including some project support. As well as
Having The Requisite Qualifications, Skills And Experience, The
MEA will need to be dynamic, able to work as part of a multi
site team and most importantly, live and honour our Trust
values. The Medical Education Management Team are very
keen to further develop and raise the profile of Medical
Education within East Kent and we see this role as fundamental
to delivering this. We are therefore looking for applicants to
bring ideas and initiatives as to how we can achieve this.
The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in
shaping and embedding a strong educational framework within
the Trust by providing consistent support to our trainee doctors
The MEA will work co-operatively across a number of teams, to provide efficient and effective administrative and project support, with some secretarial responsibilities, and deliver key functions within the Department.
The MEA will develop detailed knowledge, skills and expertise in at least one designated, complex service area(s) to enable the Department to meet statutory / mandatory / HEE and other requirements in line with
Department strategic goals and priority needs. (Potentially, the role will rotate through different designated, complex service areas depending on service needs and the need to maintain a flexible, adaptable and skilled workforce). This could either be focused on Undergraduate or Postgraduate education. The MEA will proactively liaise and interface with both clinical and administrative colleagues in both educational and
clinical contexts and settings in order to fully integrate and enhance department services in support of our students, resident doctors and other clinical staff.
Whilst primarily based at one site, there may be a need for staff to travel between the three acute hospital sites at times to support service delivery and take part in staff development and events that require
additional staff support.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
Please note that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently have a certificate of sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country. Please note we are only able to sponsor candidates for a Skilled Worker Visa for roles that are eligible at the time of application.
