I’m working with a rapidly growing, well-funded AI startup building voice AI infrastructure used by thousands of businesses. The company has scaled quickly and is backed by leading investors.

They’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build the core infrastructure powering millions of AI-driven conversations. This is a high-ownership role working closely with the founding team on challenging problems across distributed systems, real-time audio, telephony, infrastructure, and developer tooling.

What you’ll work on

Build core platform architecture, testing, observability, and integrations.
Design highly scalable and reliable backend systems.
Work on concurrency, distributed systems, data, storage, and infrastructure.
Own projects from architecture through production.
Build APIs and tooling that enable rapid customer onboarding.
Troubleshoot production issues and turn customer feedback into improvements.

Ideal background

2+ years of backend engineering experience.
Strong CS fundamentals and experience building scalable systems.
Experience with distributed systems, infrastructure, databases, or high-performance backend services.
Strong ownership and ability to operate in a fast-moving startup environment.
Startup experience is a plus.

Compensation

$200K–$300K base
