About the role The Metallurgist is responsible for developing procedures to maintain or improve plant operations and gold recoveries, optimizing usage of consumables through research and development, as well as reconciling gold and for all aspects of metallurgical accounting at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy. The position will be on an 8 days on, 6 days off (10.5 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $104,610 to $141,531 CAD. Key result areas in this role include: Research and develop improvements of processing operation and gold recoveries and optimize the use of consumables. Develop policies and procedures related to process improvements. Set parameters for process plant to ensure it is operated in the safest, cost-effective and most efficient manner for optimum recovery. Compile and issue daily and monthly metallurgical balance sheets. Troubleshoot production and process problems and make recommendations for improvements. Improve procedures for processing bullion. Assist with the supervision of Met techs/refiners as needed to cover for days off or vacation. Involved in mill projects ie installation and commissioning of new equipment and processes. Maintain inventory of mill consumables (e.g. reagents, liquid oxygen, grinding media). Maintain concentrate inventory in and outside the mill Complete assigned project work for potential plant efficiencies or expansion Nuclear Density Gauge program: maintain site compliance with CNSC Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free. Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements. Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. About you As a Metallurgist, you will have a bachelot's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a similar discipline. It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate: Able to work with and understand process systems Meticulous attention to detail Extensive background in data analysis Superior numeric and analytical ability Solid comprehension and interpretation of technical language, data and reports Contributes to overall success of the team Maintains confidentiality in all company dealings Proficient computer skills, with strong working knowledge of spreadsheets Superior organizational and time management abilities Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work with others Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
