We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Desktop Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Service team at EUMETSAT. The ideal candidate is a motivated and talented engineer with strong hands-on experience of Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, and a proactive team player.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Package, distribute and install applications and software solutions to end-user computers using Intune.
• Configure and deploy the Desktop OS to end-user computers using Intune and Autopilot.
• Manage mobile devices using Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM), including enrolment, configuration and compliance policies.
• Provide 2nd-level user and technical support for Windows clients, Microsoft 365 and third-party end-user applications.
• Liaise with the external service provider and, where necessary, escalate 3rd-level incidents.
• Operate and maintain OS and application deployment for desktops, notebooks and Cloud PCs.
• Manage and troubleshoot Windows Updates, patching systems regularly with Windows Autopatch.
• Upgrade the desktop and notebook OS regularly to keep all systems within support.
• Prepare, evaluate and coordinate the validation of software patches and updates to protect desktops against security issues and vulnerabilities.
• Maintain software and licence databases.
• Operate, monitor, patch, upgrade and troubleshoot Endpoint Protection Services, and maintain their operational procedures, including:
  • CyberArk EPM
  • Microsoft Defender

Required skills and experience

• Application packaging, distribution and troubleshooting using Intune.
• Desktop OS configuration and deployment using Intune and Autopilot.
• Mobile device management using Intune.
• 2nd-level OS and end-user application support in a large organisation.
• Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID user and licence administration.

Desired skills and experience

• Jira for user incident support and reporting.
• Confluence for documentation and reporting.
• Windows 365 Cloud PC deployment and management.
• Batch and PowerShell scripting.
• Configuration and management of Conditional Access policies in Microsoft Entra ID.
