A bout the role Owing to its relative depth (approximately 60 metres below surface), Iluka has spent deca d es d evelop ing a novel, remotely operated , underground mining (UGM) technology. Th is m ining meth od is n ow in operat ion at the Balranald Mine . This mining method is truly innovative ! Iluka’s UGM technology is akin to keyhole surgery for the mining of critical minerals. It utili ses direc tional dri lls to access to ore bodies previously thought uneconomic, with marked reductions in both environmental disturbance and carbon intensity relative to traditional minin g techniques . You can find out about our Balranald operation through the following link: Balranald - Resource Development | Iluka Resources The Mining Engineer will provide technical expertise on practical mining solutions to ensure the ongoing efficient delivery of the Balranald mining operation objectives . This position is responsible for communicating, maintaining , and integrating the consolidated mining extraction, backfill, tailings, and rehabilitation plan s for the mine site. Key responsibilities include input into daily production and development activities to ensure management of the short- and medium-term mine plan. Daily and weekly data recording and entry will provide information and direction on mine plans, backfill progress, tailings planning, rehabilitation, and material movements. Resilience and the ability to perform under pressure will be key in this dynamic environment! Your responsibilities will include : Provide short and medium term production planning expertise for the mine incl uding schedules fo r mining development and extraction the dril l s Deliver monthly, quarterly and yearly reports Effectively communicate mine plans to internal stakeholders and contractors Manage a rolling schedule to ensure pro duction outcomes are achieved Develop plans for topsoil and overburden stripping, tailings injection and management and rehabilitation About you Tertiary degree in mining, oil & gas or construction related discipline Strong short and medium term production planning, execution and rehabilitation knowledge Experience with mine planning software Self-motivated and high level a of attention to detail Our offer to you New camp facilities within proximity to the operation, including two gyms, a tennis and basketball court Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture ​ 18 weeks paid parental leave Competitive remuneration package including allowances and bonus structure Company share matching scheme Attractive relocation assistance packages for those interested!
