Mobile App Engineer-Crypto Trading

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled iOS Mobile Engineer to build a next-generation mobile trading application from the ground up. This role offers the opportunity to take complete ownership of mobile architecture, native iOS development, performance, security, and production releases.

The application will deliver a comprehensive cryptocurrency trading experience, including real-time market data, advanced order types, multiple trading venues, and integrated digital asset wallets. The ideal candidate has successfully built and launched native iOS applications, takes ownership of technical quality, and has a strong personal or professional interest in trading, fintech, or cryptocurrency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch a native iOS trading application using Swift.
• Own the mobile application's architecture and establish scalable, maintainable engineering standards.
• Translate existing web trading capabilities into a seamless mobile experience in collaboration with founders and frontend engineers.
• Build intuitive, gesture-driven interfaces and high-performance interactive charts suitable for professional trading workflows.
• Integrate REST APIs and WebSocket streams for real-time market data, live price updates, and synchronized application state.
• Implement reliable connection recovery, local caching, and state management to maintain responsiveness during periods of high market activity.
• Develop secure mobile wallet integrations, biometric authentication, transaction signing, and on-device cryptographic key storage.
• Ensure accuracy, reliability, and security in financial calculations and trading workflows.
• Manage the complete Apple App Store release lifecycle, including provisioning, testing, submission, review, and production deployment.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, previews, and rollback processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver consistent functionality and a high-quality user experience.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building the mobile engineering team as the organization grows.

Required Qualifications

• 3–16 years of professional iOS engineering experience, with strong hands-on native iOS development skills.
• Proficiency in Swift and the iOS development ecosystem.
• Demonstrated experience taking a mobile application from initial concept and development through production release on the Apple App Store.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, scalable codebases, performance optimization, and maintainable software design.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and real-time data streams using WebSockets or equivalent technologies.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming, application state management, caching, and network reliability.
• Experience implementing secure authentication, sensitive-data handling, and mobile application security.
• Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and take end-to-end ownership of deliverables.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools where appropriate, while maintaining code quality and engineering judgment.
• Willingness to work on-site in New York City five days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• A strong personal interest in trading, demonstrated through personal trading activity, trading-related projects, or relevant professional experience.
• Experience developing fintech, cryptocurrency, digital asset, or financial trading applications.
• Familiarity with blockchain-based applications, mobile crypto wallets, transaction signing, and secure key management.
• Experience working with live financial market data, complex order types, and multi-venue trading systems.
• Experience building interactive charting interfaces and data-intensive mobile applications.
• A public GitHub repository, portfolio, or demonstrable examples of native iOS development.
• Previous experience establishing mobile architecture and mentoring other engineers.

Compensation and Work Authorization

• Base salary: USD 185,000–300,000 per year.
• Additional compensation: Equity and cash bonuses.
• Work arrangement: Full-time, on-site in the New York City Metropolitan Area.
• Visa support: Selected transfers and eligible work authorization categories may be supported, including H-1B transfers for candidates meeting the stated conditions, O-1, and TN. New H-1B lottery sponsorship is not included.
