Position Summary

A leading private healthcare institution in the Caribbean is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join its diagnostic imaging team. The successful candidate will perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging examinations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established imaging protocols.

The role involves working closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other imaging professionals to support accurate and timely diagnosis. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced MRI examinations according to established clinical protocols

and physician requests.

• Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while maintaining

patient comfort and dignity.

• Operate MRI scanners, coils, injectors, monitoring equipment, and associated imaging systems

safely and effectively.

• Conduct comprehensive MRI safety screening for patients, accompanying persons, and

relevant personnel before entry into controlled MRI areas.

• Identify potential contraindications, implants, devices, foreign bodies, and other MRI safety

risks and escalate concerns appropriately.

• Administer contrast media when authorized and appropriately credentialed, following

institutional protocols and monitoring patients for adverse reactions.

• Evaluate acquired images for diagnostic quality, appropriate coverage, artifacts, and technical

accuracy before completion of examinations.

• Collaborate with radiologists and other clinicians to optimize imaging protocols for individual

patient and diagnostic requirements.

• Follow infection-control, radiation/imaging department, patient-identification, medication, and

emergency-response policies.

• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation within PACS/RIS or other

hospital information systems.

• Perform routine equipment and image-quality checks and promptly report technical faults or

safety concerns.Qualifications

• Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent recognized qualification

in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, MRI Technology, or a related discipline.

• Formal training, certification, or demonstrated advanced competency in Magnetic Resonance

Imaging.

• Typically 3–5 years of relevant clinical imaging experience, preferably including substantial

independent MRI experience.

• Current professional registration or certification applicable to the candidate's country of

practice.

• Eligibility to obtain any professional registration or license required in the employing Caribbean

jurisdiction.

• Experience with modern MRI systems, PACS/RIS platforms, contrast-enhanced examinations,

and advanced imaging protocols is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of MRI principles, imaging sequences, anatomy, positioning, and

image optimization.

• Thorough understanding of MRI safety, including magnetic-field hazards, implants, devices, and

patient screening requirements.

• Ability to consistently produce high-quality diagnostic images.

• Strong patient-care and communication skills, including the ability to support anxious or

claustrophobic patients.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to clinical or technical emergencies.

• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
