Clarence Correctional Centre | Grafton, NSW

Make a difference in a role that's anything but ordinary

Looking for a role where you can use your advanced clinical skills, work with a high level of autonomy and make a genuine difference?

Join Serco's Health Services team at Clarence Correctional Centre, Australia's largest correctional facility. With a population of approximately 1,700 people in custody and three modern health centres, the facility provides a broad range of healthcare services, including primary health, mental health, emergency care and drug and alcohol support.

You'll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering essential healthcare in a unique clinical environment.

With $8,000 relocation assistance, daily meals provided and a competitive salary, this is an opportunity to take your career in a different direction while enjoying everything the Northern Rivers has to offer.

Discover the Northern Rivers – a sea or tree change worth making

Located just outside Grafton in Northern NSW, the Northern Rivers offers a fantastic lifestyle for those looking for a change.

Think beautiful beaches, coastal towns, lush hinterlands and welcoming local communities. Enjoy a more relaxed pace of life, affordable living and plenty of opportunities to get outdoors.

Grafton is approximately 6 hours from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane, with popular destinations such as Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour within easy reach.

Whether you're looking for a sea change, a tree change or simply a new adventure, the Northern Rivers offers a great balance between lifestyle and career.

And with $8,000 relocation assistance available, making the move is a little easier.

About the role

As a Nurse Practitioner, you'll play an important role in delivering advanced, person-centred care within our Primary Health team.

This is a highly autonomous position where you'll use your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, prescribe and manage patient care. You'll also provide clinical leadership and support to the nursing team, helping to maintain high standards of care across the centre.

Working closely with GPs, mental health and allied health professionals, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to a diverse and often complex patient population.

What you'll be doing

  • Conduct advanced clinical assessments, diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans.

  • Prescribe and manage medications within your scope of practice.

  • Provide ongoing care and clinical management for patients with complex health needs.

  • Use your clinical judgement to respond to acute and changing patient presentations.

  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance and mentoring to nursing colleagues.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to deliver coordinated care.

  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development.

  • Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed and respectful care.

What you'll bring

You'll be an experienced Nurse Practitioner who is confident working independently, enjoys sharing their knowledge and can adapt to the challenges of a different healthcare environment.

You'll also have:

  • A Master of Nursing Practice and current NMBA Nurse Practitioner endorsement.

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills.

  • The ability to manage complex presentations and work autonomously.

  • Experience providing clinical leadership and mentoring other nurses.

  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and the NMBA Nurse Practitioner Standards for Practice (2014).

  • Current Advanced Life Support and First Aid certificates.

Experience in acute, emergency, primary, remote or correctional health will be highly regarded.

What's on offer?

We know making a career move is a big decision, so here's what's included:

  • $8,000 relocation assistance to help with your move to the Northern Rivers.

  • Competitive salary and flexible salary packaging options, including novated leasing.

  • Daily meals provided while on site.

  • Free onsite parking.

  • Access to Benefits@Serco, including wellbeing support, financial benefits and Fitness Passport.

  • 12 weeks paid parental leave for eligible employees through our Share2Care program.

  • Employee referral incentives.

  • Opportunities to broaden your experience across primary, emergency and correctional health.
