Compensation: Starting at $311,000 annually
Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is seeking an Obesity Medicine Physician to join our team in Yakima, Washington. This is an opportunity to help expand access to evidence-based obesity and weight management services within a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the health of underserved communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. The role offers the opportunity to help shape and grow obesity medicine services while working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Yakima County is the fruit basket of Washington and offers livelihood to many families with the abundance of its harvest. The harvest includes the nation's leading export of hops and exports apples, grapes, cherries, and asparagus. Yakima Valley is also home to many breweries, wineries, and cider houses. The abundance of agriculture contributes to the livelihood of our migrant farm workers, warehouse workers, transportation industry, food industry, and sustainability in farm-to-table programs, among others. Healthy communities are needed to produce these services. In addition, Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is dedicated to ensuring we are available to keep our communities healthy, educated, and informed of our services.

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is seeking an Obesity Medicine Physician to join our team in Yakima, Washington. This is an opportunity to help expand access to evidence-based obesity and weight management services within a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the health of underserved communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. The role offers the opportunity to help shape and grow obesity medicine services while working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage obesity and obesity-related medical conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, sleep apnea, and other cardiometabolic disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate lifestyle interventions, behavioral strategies, and anti-obesity medications.
- Provide comprehensive medical weight management and ongoing longitudinal care for adult patients.
- Collaborate with primary care, endocrinology, BHC, nutrition services, pharmacy, and care management to support coordinated care.
- Educate patients on treatment options, expected outcomes, medication management, and long-term weight maintenance strategies.
- Serve as a consultative resource to referring providers.
- Coordinate referrals to bariatric surgery or specialty services when clinically appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited residency program.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obesity Medicine (ABOM) or a primary specialty with demonstrated expertise in medical weight management.
- Washington State medical license or ability to obtain.
- DEA registration or ability to obtain.
- Fellowship training or additional certification in Obesity Medicine, Weight Management, Endocrinology, or a related specialty preferred.
