We are seeking an Occupational Nurse to join our team at Nyrstar Port Pirie. This position plays a vital role in managing onsite medical processes, including pre-employment and periodic health assessments, lead-in-blood monitoring, health surveillance programs, and adherence to workplace health and safety regulations. Location: Port Pirie, South Australia Contract Type: 18 months – Limited Tenure Reports To : Health Superintendent Key Responsibilities In this critical hands-on role, you will: Medical Examinations: Conduct comprehensive medical assessments for employees, including pre-employment, periodic, and post-incident assessments. Lead in Blood Monitoring: Administer and evaluate lead-in-blood testing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for employees working in lead-exposed environments. Health Surveillance: Implement and manage health monitoring programs to mitigate workplace risks. Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records, ensure privacy compliance, and stay updated with occupational health regulations. About You To thrive in this role, you’ll bring the following qualifications, experience, and skills: Education & Certifications: Required: Diploma of Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing. Nice to have: Relevant certifications in occupational health and safety. Essential Skills & Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as an Enrolled or Registered Nurse. Strong organisational, multitasking, and prioritisation abilities. A collaborative approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Familiarity with workplace health and safety practices.
