The Role

Are you an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting people to achieve greater independence and recovery? Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Mental Health Inpatient Services and become part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with individuals experiencing mental and physical health challenges, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to participate fully in daily life. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • You will be based at Leverndale Hospital
  • Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined caseload and deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, interventions and evaluations
  • Work collaboratively with patients to develop meaningful goals that maximise independence, recovery and wellbeing
  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions tailored to patients' functional and therapeutic needs
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, care planning, risk assessments and discharge planning processes
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures in line with professional and organisational standards
  • Support the learning and development of students, support staff and colleagues within the clinical environment
  • Participate in service development, audit, research and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on daily functioning and independence
  • Experience of delivering person-centred occupational therapy assessment and intervention within a healthcare setting
  • Ability to build therapeutic relationships and communicate effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice, clinical risk assessment and outcome-focused interventions
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and delivering compassionate, recovery-focused care
