You'll lead Optimum's Occupational Therapists in Tasmania as Occupational Therapy Discipline Area Manager, based in Hobart or Launceston, while keeping a clinical caseload of about 21 billable hours a week. It suits an experienced Occupational Therapist who wants to mentor clinicians and shape service quality without leaving clinical work behind. Relocation assistance may be available for interstate candidates.
You'll work closely with operational and clinical leaders across the organisation.

Optimum has run allied health services across NSW and Tasmania for more than 20 years, with 14 clinics and a team of over 200 professionals across seven disciplines. In this role you'll shape the careers of Occupational Therapists and influence clinical quality across Tasmania, working alongside experienced leaders and clinicians. There's access to leadership training, mentoring and ongoing clinical development, with pathways into senior leadership and executive-level roles, and recognition for building strong teams and achieving outcomes.

What The Role Covers
Performance
- Holding clinicians to clinical standards, KPIs and performance expectations
- Supporting clinicians to achieve strong client outcomes
- Making sure clinical policies and best-practice frameworks are followed
- Building a supportive, inclusive and connected team
- Running initiatives that improve engagement, wellbeing and retention
- Developing individual career plans for clinicians
- Supporting professional growth and specialisation pathways
- Providing mentoring, coaching and leadership support
- Carrying a caseload of approximately 21 billable hours per week
- Leading by example through high-quality Occupational Therapy
- Supporting complex client presentations when required
Experience And Approach
- Minimum 4 years' Occupational Therapy clinical experience
- A record of achieving and exceeding clinical performance expectations
- Leadership, coaching and mentoring capability, including supporting clinician growth
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration
- Medicare Provider Number (or eligibility to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Check
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle, with the ability to travel between sites when required
