The Role

As an Organizational Development Specialist , you will play an important role in strengthening how Toyota Material Handling North America develops talent and supports Associate growth. Working in partnership with Human Resources, leaders, and other stakeholders, you will help develop and improve talent practices that enable career growth and internal mobility, strengthen performance and succession, and expand educational and workforce development opportunities across TMHNA.

A key focus of this role will be helping build and evolve TMHNA's approach to talent and succession. Working with Organizational Development leadership, Human Resources, and business leaders, you will help translate our talent strategy into practical processes, tools, and experiences that strengthen how we identify talent, assess readiness, build succession pipelines, and develop Associates for future opportunities across the organization. Depending on experience, you may independently lead significant components of this work or take a broader role in designing and leading solutions across functions and sites.

You will independently manage programs and projects, use data and stakeholder insights to identify opportunities, translate ideas into practical solutions, and work across the organization to help new and evolving talent practices take hold.

You will join an Organizational Development team that is continuing to build and evolve how we develop talent across TMHNA, providing an opportunity to contribute not only to the programs and processes we support today, but also to the capabilities and experiences we are building for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Help design, build, and evolve TMHNA’s approach to talent and succession, partnering with Human Resources and business leaders to strengthen talent identification, readiness, development planning, succession pipelines, and supporting tools and processes.
  • Develop and advance career growth and internal mobility strategies, programs, tools, and experiences that help Associates understand career opportunities, build capabilities, and move across roles, functions, and locations within TMHNA.
  • Develop and strengthen educational and workforce development partnerships that expand development opportunities, address critical capability needs, and build sustainable talent pipelines.
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of performance management practices, helping ensure processes, tools, and resources support meaningful performance and development conversations, accountability, and business needs.
  • Partner with leaders, Human Resources, and other stakeholders to understand talent and organizational needs, identify underlying challenges, and translate those needs into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Use talent, mobility, performance, succession, workforce, and organizational data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities and turn insights into meaningful recommendations.
  • Lead cross-functional talent and Organizational Development initiatives from problem definition and stakeholder alignment through design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and facilitate talent discussions, workshops, working sessions, leader forums, and development experiences that move work and decisions forward.
  • Develop change and adoption strategies that build stakeholder understanding, engagement, capability, and sustained use of new talent practices.
  • Research emerging practices in talent management, career mobility, workforce development, and Organizational Development and determine how they could be applied effectively within TMHNA.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Business, Education, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in talent management, Organizational Development, Human Resources, workforce development, change management, learning and development, or a related discipline. The level of the role will be determined based on experience, demonstrated capability, and scope of prior work.
  • Experience with or strong knowledge of talent practices such as succession and talent planning, career development and mobility, performance management, talent development, or workforce development.
  • The ability to move beyond executing an established process to identify needs, challenge assumptions, develop solutions, and continuously improve how work gets done.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data, stakeholder input, and business context to identify patterns and make sound recommendations.
  • Strong consulting and relationship-building skills, including the ability to build credibility, ask thoughtful questions, navigate differing perspectives, and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong project leadership skills with the ability to move complex, cross-functional work from concept through implementation.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead productive conversations with Associates, people leaders, Human Resources partners, and other stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively in an evolving environment where not every process or solution has already been defined.
  • Curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset, with an interest in emerging talent, workforce, and Organizational Development practices.
  • Experience designing or significantly improving succession, talent review, career development, internal mobility, educational partnership, performance management, or other enterprise talent practices is especially valuable.
