Role description
The Painter shall be responsible for carrying out all interior and exterior painting works, decorative finishes, wood painting, varnishing, polishing, and related surface preparation works at residential and commercial properties. The employee is expected to deliver high-quality finishes while maintaining company standards, project timelines, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out interior and exterior wall painting for villas, apartments, commercial buildings, and other properties.
• Perform surface preparation including sanding, scraping, filling cracks, patch repairs, putty application, priming, and smoothing surfaces before painting.
• Apply emulsion, acrylic, enamel, epoxy, textured, and weatherproof paints using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Carry out wood painting, staining, varnishing, polishing, lacquer finishing, and PU (Polyurethane) coating on doors, cabinets, wardrobes, pergolas, furniture, and other wooden surfaces.
• Prepare and finish metal surfaces using appropriate primers, anti-rust coatings, and enamel paints where required.
• Perform colour matching and touch-up works to achieve a seamless finish.
• Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures, glass, landscaping, and other surrounding areas before commencing painting works.
• Carry out waterproof coating applications and other protective finishes when required.
• Inspect completed work to ensure a smooth, uniform, and defect-free finish in accordance with company quality standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to ensure efficient project execution.
• Maintain painting tools, spray machines, ladders, scaffolding, and equipment in good working condition.
• Estimate and report paint and material requirements to the supervisor before commencing work.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures while handling paints, thinners, solvents, and other materials.
• Attend emergency maintenance works and perform overtime whenever required by operational requirements.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Company that are reasonably related to the role.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a professional painter in building maintenance, fit-out, or construction projects.
• Experience in both interior and exterior painting of villas and residential buildings is essential.
• Proven experience in wood painting, staining, varnishing, polishing, and PU finishing.
• Knowledge of various paint systems, primers, sealers, surface preparation techniques, and finishing methods.
• Ability to use painting tools, spray painting equipment, scaffolding, and ladders safely and effectively.
• Basic understanding of colour matching, paint mixing, and material calculations.
• Physically fit and capable of working at heights and in outdoor conditions.
