Pathologist' Assistant

Pathologists' Assistant - Katy, TX

Brown Pathology, a private medical practice based in the Houston area, is seeking a full-time Pathologists' Assistant to join our team at our Katy location. This is a daytime position, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant training program
• Certification: ASCP certification required
• Experience: At least one year of experience with highly complex specimens preferred; recent graduates will be considered
• Experience with Dragon voice recognition software is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform gross descriptions and complete dissections of simple and complex surgical specimens
• Provide frozen section services
• Assist with specialized procedures and projects as designated by the pathologists
• Perform tissue procurement for special studies
• Assist with conference preparation as needed
• Coordinate gross room workflows and personnel to promote efficiency
