PERSOL have partnered with a regional WA local government organisation seeking an experienced People & Culture Advisor on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a residential opportunity for an HR professional looking to take on a broad generalist advisory role, partnering with leaders across the organisation and providing practical support across employee relations, performance, organisational capability and workplace culture. The position requires relocation to the region, with accommodation provided.

About The Role

Reporting to the Manager People & Culture, you will provide advice, coaching and support to managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle. The role has a strong focus on employee and industrial relations, performance management, organisational development and supporting leaders through complex workplace matters.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to strengthen leadership capability, improve employee engagement and support positive organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical HR advice and coaching to managers and employees.
  • Manage employee relations and industrial relations matters.
  • Support performance management, workplace issues and conflict resolution.
  • Coach leaders through difficult conversations and workforce challenges.
  • Contribute to organisational development, culture and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support recruitment and selection activities where required.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Interpret and apply relevant employment legislation and industrial relations requirements.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a People & Culture, HR Advisor or generalist HR role.
  • Strong employee relations and performance management experience.
  • Confidence managing sensitive and complex workplace matters.
  • Ability to coach and influence managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Practical knowledge of Western Australian industrial relations and employment legislation.
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Relevant HR / People & Culture qualifications or substantial relevant experience.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Previous local government, regional, mining, utilities or other operational workforce experience would be highly regarded.
