Our client is a leading healthcare provider in Qatar, part of the country's continued healthcare and sports medicine expansion following its post-World Cup infrastructure legacy. The organisation is recruiting an experienced Physiotherapist to join its rehabilitation team, supporting a growing patient base across [musculoskeletal, sports medicine, neurological, and/or general rehabilitation] services.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients across [inpatient and/or outpatient] settings, working as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive physiotherapy assessments, developing and delivering individualised treatment plans for patients.
- Provide treatment across the relevant clinical scope — musculoskeletal, sports injury rehabilitation, neurological, paediatric, or general rehabilitation, as applicable to the post.
- Utilise a range of manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modality-based treatment techniques appropriate to patient presentation.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with DHP/QCHP and facility standards.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and sports medicine specialists.
- Provide patient and family education on rehabilitation goals, home exercise programmes, and self-management.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance, audit, and continuing professional development activities.
- Adhere to all DHP/QCHP clinical governance, infection control, and health & safety standards.
Essential Qualifications & Registration
- Recognised physiotherapy degree (BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification clinical experience (exact threshold may vary by qualification pathway).
- Successful licensing with Qatar's Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) — formerly the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) — including DataFlow Primary Source Verification (PSV) of all qualifications and employment history (mandatory for all applicants with no exceptions from January 2026) and the Qatar-specific Prometric physiotherapy qualifying exam.
- Note: the Qatar Prometric exam is unique to Qatar and cannot be substituted with exam results from other GCC authorities (DHA, DOH, MOHAP, SCFHS); some exemptions may apply for holders of recognised international board certifications.
- Current Certificate of Good Standing from the regulatory body of the country of most recent practice.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Confirmed employer sponsorship — the final DHP licence is issued only once an employer in Qatar has sponsored the applicant.
Desirable Criteria
- Specialty certification or experience in sports medicine, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, or neurological/spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
- Prior GCC or international clinical experience.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary elite sports medicine or complex rehabilitation setting.
- Additional manual therapy or specialist technique certifications relevant to the post.
Person Specification
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to work autonomously within scope of practice.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable working within a multicultural clinical team and patient population.
- Willingness to relocate to Qatar for the duration of the contract, with adaptability to local clinical and cultural context.
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and engagement with DHP/QCHP professional development requirements.
- Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary team working.
